Mission Statement

Precious Nothing.com is the cumulative effort of a group of college students with a deep interest in adult animation and media preservation. The 90s was a time of experimentation in the animation industry, and for every South Park or Ren and Stimpy that stood the test of time, there were many that failed to make the cut, languishing in obscurity at best or becoming lost media at worst.

One of these losses was Perfect Nothing, and our goal is to find as much of Precious Nothing as possible: scripts, storyboards, soundbites, full episodes if possible (though it wouldn’t be lost media if full episodes were readily viewable). Furthermore, we seek to uncover as much of the history of its production as we can, seeking out and interviewing those directly responsible for its creation. As students, our ability to investigate and consistently update our findings will be limited, be assured that our commitment to media preservation and passion for this wacky piece of the past will carry us through no matter how long it takes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you and what school do you go to?

We would prefer to keep that information to ourselves at the moment. Not all of us are comfortable with personal informational being public like that. You can never be too careful on the internet, you never know who's watching.

How did you learn about Precious Nothing?

Precious Nothing, was brought to our attention by one of our animation professors. During a character design class, he went on a tangent about his experience working in the studio where it was produced as part of a summer internship. Their descriptions of its irreverent humor and expressively irregular animation piqued the interest our group, and when we learned that the show had become lost media, they were happy to provide the initial steps of our recovery effort.

Where and how do you find this media?

Most of the time it's just your typical scrolling through eBay and other resale websites hoping to find something. After the studio's dissolution a lot of the production assets were auctioned off and have since been floating through the collector’s market. You can find storyboards and voice recordings relatively easily in these auctions, and they aren’t very expensive either. The animation cels on the other hand are hardcore collectors’ items, and no matter how hard we look we can’t find any up for sale. Or at least none that are up for sale long enough for us to scrape together the money to buy them.

Thankfully however we’ve been in communication with one such collector and there have been talks of getting some scans of his collection, so we may be able to publish a few if we’re lucky!

What encourages your search?

A deep fascination with lost media, an appreciation for the art of animation, and the sweet, sweet credits we will receive once we turn this in as our college thesis ;)

How many episodes of Precious Nothing are there?

Our current research shows that there are three 24-episode seasons, but halfway through the broadcast of the third season the show was pulled off the air due to the show’s increasingly controversial content. The remainder of the series is alleged to have been released on home video, but as of now no copies of any of the three seasons have been found.

Have you been in contact with any other employees from RBN Studios?

Yes! Our professor made a handful of calls to other members of the animation team they kept in contact with, and we also organized some interviews with a few of the voice actors. We will be uploading our interviews with them here as we have them!

Are you aware of this show’s reputation?

We at Precious Nothing.com do not condone the actions of Rudy Barlas or the views expressed in the series proper: we are here to preserve history, no matter how ugly that history may be.
